1. Gretchen Barretto and Atong Ang

But one issue has dominated headlines this month: Gretchen Barretto and Marjorie Barretto are engaged in an intense sibling feud that started with them engaging in an altercation at their late father’s wake and has since escalated.

Conflict escalated further when Marjorie suggested that Gretchen “stole” Charlie Ang from Nicole. During a tell-all interview, Marjorie made statements alleging Gretchen of cheating on her husband with Charlie Ang and being unfaithful to their marriage vows.

Gretchen later denied these claims, with photos showing her and Ang cuddling close online. In response to this scandal, Ang issued a statement in which he denied romantically being involved with any of the Barretto women; both Nicole and her mother worked for him and that he has known both sisters since they were children. Additionally, he denied having had any sexual encounter with Gretchen but did reveal his true affections were for Claudine whom he wouldn’t leave behind for Nicole.

2. Marjorie Barretto and Claudine Barretto

Claudine Barretto ignited an all-out war between her sisters Gretchen and Marjorie by accusing Gretchen of physically harming their mother Inday. Claudine posted a video to social media showing Gretchen physically assaulting their mother Inday.

Reports reveal that gambling enthusiast Atong Ang is having extramarital affairs with three Barretto sisters and Nicole Barretto – they all happen to be close with former Caloocan City mayor and business magnate Enrico “Recom” Echiverri who also remains close with President Aquino.

3. Atong Ang and Nicole Barretto

There’s much to worry about in the Philippines: China’s territorial ambitions, President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody war on drugs and Manila’s transportation crisis are all pressing concerns – but one calamity may overshadow them all: the Barretto sisters feudin’.

Claudine Barretto made headlines recently when she confirmed her niece Nicole has had an intimate relationship with businessman Atong Ang – after Gretchen accused Nicole of “stealing” Atong from her.

According to reports, Atong Ang and his family’s Cojuangco business empire were behind the decision to remove Japanese gaming tycoon Kazuo Okada from Okada Resort and Casino board. Furthermore, Ang is close with Ramon See Ang from San Miguel who owns Ginebra and Magnolia teams respectively in PBA competition.

He remains something of an enigma, preferring not to speak out publicly and remain under the radar. Additionally, there have been reports that he’s engaged in criminal activities, such as gambling and tobacco excise tax fraud; currently, he heads Lucky 8 Starquest online e-sabong company.

4. Atong Ang and Claudine Barretto

Atong Ang issued a statement last week in which he denied having anything to do with the recent dispute between sisters Gretchen and Claudine Barretto and their niece Nicole. According to him, his relationship with Nicole was simply one of business ties. If I hadn’t come into contact with Gretchen at all, my business relationship would simply have been with Nicole instead, he explained. “[My relationship] would simply have been through Nicole as opposed to Gretchen.”

He denied that he took Nicole away from Claudine. Instead, he claimed they were close but did not engage in romantic relations.

Atong Ang is an esteemed businessman and entrepreneur in the Philippines, known for being involved with various businesses ranging from gambling to retail outlets. Prior to 2006 when he entered a plea bargain agreement with government and was released from prison after being accused of smuggling cocaine from Colombia into the country, Atong was released after entering a plea bargain deal allowing him to remain free while running for president of his home nation.
